When I saw this desk at a yard sale last summer, it was love at first sight.
I looked past the starches, water marks, and overall damaged top.
And fell in love with the curves;
and the sexy legs!
After sanding down the top, I used a Jacobean stain to create a dark top!
I made my own grey chalk paint for the beautiful curved body and sexy legs! Of course, I distressed the sides for old world charm.
I used some of my favorite items to pull it all together. A vintage silver tray with a birds’ nest under a cloche; an old shutter painted blue with a preserved boxwood wreath; and a rustic yellow chair juxtaposed with a new chevron patterned throw. A cottage living magazine adds the final touch.
A look back: Before’s and Afters
